Senior AWS Data Engineer

Job description

We are looking for an AWS Data Engineer with experience in building, monitoring and maintaining reliable and secure data solutions in AWS. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, and Business Consultants to deliver value to our clients.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data infrastructure (e.g. ELT, generic data pipelines, interfaces between data products)

  • Translate business needs into well-designed, maintainable data solutions

  • Balance cost, performance, and maintainability when designing new or improving on existing solutions

  • Implement production-ready solutions (e.g. deployment automation, monitoring, alerting)

  • Stay up to date with developments in data technology and share your knowledge with your colleagues

  • Coach junior and medior data engineers

Job requirements

Your qualifications

Must have

  • You have at least 4 years of experience.

  • Hands-on experience with implementing data solutions in AWS.

  • You can build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or AWS CloudFormation.

  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker)

  • Hands-on experience with networking, security, and access control in AWS.

  • You can set up and maintain deployment automation pipelines and have day-to-day experience with Git (using GitHub, GitLab, or similar)

  • You get energy from writing and maintaining clean, well-structured Python code

  • You have contributed to production-grade deployments

 

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with data modeling (Kimball, Data Vault)

  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration (ECS/AKS/GKE, Kubernetes)

  • Strong analytical SQL skills

  • Knowledge of data warehousing best practices

  • Hands-on experience with dbt

 

Languages

Fluent in English, and Dutch or French
