Data Project Manager (Freelance)

At Datashift, we’re looking for a Data Project Manager (Freelance) to strengthen our delivery capacity on several large‑scale data projects. You’ll take end‑to‑end ownership, guiding teams and stakeholders toward successful project outcomes.

Your Role

As Data Project Manager, you are the driving force behind data‑focused initiatives. You will:

• Lead data projects end‑to‑end: planning, scope, risks, dependencies, governance, and communication.

• Coordinate cross‑functional teams handling content, analysis, data preparation, and migration tasks.

• Translate business and technical requirements into a clear project roadmap with strong follow‑up.

• Manage data migration tracks, data platform enablement, reporting readiness, and related workstreams.

• Challenge content owners and technical experts based on solid experience with data environments.

• Apply Prince2, Agile or hybrid methodologies depending on the client context.

• Act as the primary link to program management and C‑level stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate:

• Has minimum 5 years of hands‑on project management experience with full end‑to‑end accountability.

• Has delivered complex data or analytics projects (data platforms, migrations, ERP‑related data streams, reporting enablement…).

• Has worked in large transformation contexts.

• Brings structure, clarity, and predictability to multi‑workstream programs.

• Understands key data concepts: data platforms, data quality, integrations, migrations, reporting ecosystems.

• Communicates clearly and confidently across business and IT stakeholders, including interaction with senior program managers.

• Works comfortably with Prince2, Agile, or hybrid delivery models.

• Has strong language skills — preferably Dutch and English, as both are frequently used with our clients.

• Shows maturity, ownership and the ability to challenge teams constructively — someone who has genuinely led projects, not just coordinated them.
